What is Importer Exporter Code (IEC)?
The IEC is issued online by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade and is linked to the business's PAN. It is quoted on every shipping bill and bill of entry.
An IEC does not expire, but DGFT requires holders to update and confirm their IEC details every year; an IEC that is not updated can be deactivated.
