What is Customs Broker (CHA)?
Customs brokers in India are licensed under the Customs Brokers Licensing Regulations. They used to be called Custom House Agents (CHA), and the older name is still widely used.
The broker files the shipping bill, attends examination and gets the Let Export Order. On the US side, a separate US-licensed customs broker clears the goods for the importer.
