US trade remedy · Foodstuffs
Imports of frozen warmwater shrimp from India into the US are subject to an antidumping duty order (A-533-840) and a countervailing duty order (C-533-921). The US importer pays a cash deposit at entry, at the rate set for the Indian producer and exporter.
The orders
The all-others rate applies to Indian producers and exporters without their own rate. It is the rate printed when the order was issued; later administrative reviews set new, company-specific rates.
| Type | Case number | Order date | All-others rate at order | Next sunset |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Antidumping (AD) | A-533-840 | 1 Feb 2005 | See the order notice | 1 Jun 2028 |
| Countervailing (CVD) | C-533-921 | 26 Dec 2024 | 5.77% | 1 Nov 2029 |

The frozen warmwater shrimp and prawn products included in the scope of these orders, regardless of definitions in the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States ("HTS"), are products which are processed from warmwater shrimp and prawns through freezing and which are sold in any count size.…

Questions
Yes. Imports of frozen warmwater shrimp from India are subject to an antidumping duty order (A-533-840, since 1 Feb 2005) and a countervailing duty order (C-533-921, since 26 Dec 2024), according to the U.S. International Trade Administration's list of orders in force as of 18 Sept 2026.
When the orders were issued, the rate for exporters not individually named (the "all-others" rate) was 5.77% for the CVD order. Rates are set per producer and exporter and change after each administrative review, so the rate on a shipment today depends on who made and sold it. Check the latest Federal Register notice.
The US importer of record. It pays a cash deposit at the AD/CVD rate when the goods enter the US, and the final amount is settled when Commerce completes its review. In practice the duty shapes the price the US buyer can pay, so it matters to the Indian exporter too.
Orders are reviewed every five years in a "sunset review". The next one for frozen warmwater shrimp from India is due to start in Jun 2028. Until an order is revoked, it stays in force.
